The Junior Catholic Daughters of the Americas, otherwise known as JCDA, is a unique organization that is exclusively for Catholic girls, ages 6 through 18. Membership is divided into two categories: Juniorette is age 6 through 11 and Junior is age 12 through 18. The Blessed Mother Mary is the Patroness of the organization.
The JCDA Program is Based on Four Objectives:-
To promote the development of the whole person through programs of self-identity, personal growth, and peer group relationships

To promote service to others in the parish, community, and JCDA

To encourage spiritual growth by providing opportunities for personal prayer, liturgy, and ecumenical understanding

To encourage programming that is open, flexible, and creative to current needs and concerns
JCDA serves God through a variety of activities, including: the promotion of Christian values, the acceptation of the Christian message and action upon it, and building lifelong Christian friendships. The threefold program has an emphasis in areas of involvement that embrace Message, Service, and Community.
The Four Basic Goals of JCDA:
1. Develop yourself as a Christian,
2. Learn to work for the good of others,
3. Grow spiritually,
4. Be creative and flexible.
Our Yearly Service Projects Include:- Host school supply drive for local YMCA
- Work the children's games at the parish festivals
- Christmas caroling at local nursery homes
- Work the Knights of Columbus Christmas Tree Lot
- Host Baby Shower for local Pregnancy Resource Center
- Send Valentine's Day cards to patients at Texas Children's Hospital
- Assist our Senior Court with their CDA Pancake Breakfast
- Volunteer at the Baytown Special Olympics
JCDA Court Mary St. John #2197 of Baytown, Texas is open to young ladies in Baytown, Highlands, Mont Belvieu, and surrounding communities without a local JCDA court.
Meetings: 2nd Sunday of each month from 12:30-2:00PM (following 11:15AM mass)
Time Commitment: Attend our monthly meeting as well as monthly service projects (2-4 hours a month total) -
