“ From the beginning of creation, God made them male and female.
For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” (Mark 10:6-9)
In virtue of the sacrament of marriage, married Christians signify and share in the mystery of the unity and fruitful love that exists between Christ and His Church; they thus help each other to attain holiness in their married life and in welcoming and rearing children; and they have their own special place and gift among the people of God. (Rite of Marriage; Par. 1)

Couples wishing to celebrate their marriage at St. John’s should call the parish office to set up an appointment with the priest or deacon. There will be a pre-marital interview and preparation 6 to 8 months prior to the proposed date of marriage. In the event of a previous marriage by either party, this contact should be made no less than 18 months prior to the proposed date of marriage. No date will be reserved for marriage until a couple meets with the Priest or Deacon and all canonical impediments are satisfied.
