  For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” (Mark 10:6-9)

  In virtue of the sacrament of marriage, married Christians signify and share in the mystery of the unity and fruitful love that exists between Christ and His Church; they thus help each other to attain holiness in their married life and in welcoming and rearing children; and they have their own special place and gift among the people of God.   Couples wishing to celebrate their marriage at St. John’s should call the parish office to set up an appointment with the priest or deacon. There will be a pre-marital interview and preparation 6 to 8 months prior to the proposed date of marriage. In the event of a previous marriage by either party, this contact should be made no less than 18 months prior to the proposed date of marriage. No date will be reserved for marriage until a couple meets with the Priest or Deacon and all canonical impediments are satisfied.
